Nathalie Eleni, celebrity make-up artist, picks her favourite Effortless Skin saviours.

Problem: Dry Lips

The winter months can leave lips dehydrated and chapped with dry skin build up that decreases lip volume and is only accentuated by wearing lipsticks and glosses.

Lemon Peel Lip Balm by Mene & Moy is a revolutionary lip treatment formulated to remove ageing dead skin build whilst deeply hydrating lips to increase lip volume and intensify natural lip colour. This product is a great way to help maintain the effect of injectables or to use as an alternative to fillers.

Problem: Dry, Flaky Skin

Just like lips, your complexion retains dead skin cells as ageing causes cell turnover to decrease. This becomes more apparent in colder climates as skin becomes drier and builds up meaning your usual moisturiser can’t always replenish new cells and give adequate hydration. Using an enzyme based home peel is a fantastic way to gently remove dry, dead skin cells and even out skin texture and tone.

I love Theraderm’s NuPeel Natural Enzyme Peel as it gently stimulates exfoliation to reveal gloriously radiant skin. NuPeel uses enzymes, rather than granules, which makes it less abrasive, so is suited to more delicate and sensitised skins. For best results use 2/3 times per week.

Problem: Parched Skin and Patchy Make Up

Central heating causes dehydration, foundation and blushers can become patchy and uneven as your skin is desperately trying to absorb the moisture from your make up. Give your skin a drink and rehydrate throughout the day with Mineralogie Skin Spritz – 30ml. containing beautifully nourishing and hydrating ingredients such as Lavender, Rose and Chamomile. This is an easy and inexpensive way to step up your Winter regime and keep fine dehydration lines at bay!

Problem: Dehydration and Fine Lines

I always encourage clients to introduce a serum into their winter routines to deliver more concentrated ingredients that pack skin with added nutrients for protection. One of my favorites is SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5. Containing hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5 to seal in moisture, plump out fine lines and help with tissue repair. Apply day and night under your moisturiser, suited to the most sensitive of skins and those that are prone to breakouts with dryness.

Problem: Rosacea and Sensitized Skin

Harsh winds coupled with rich festive foods and central heating can excasabate Rosacea. ‘Green’ cosmeceutical brand Medik8 have formulated Red Alert Serum to bring intensive relief to flare-ups and redness that result from hypersensitivity. Using cutting-edge cosmeceutical developments also mean this is an excellent topical treatment for erythema, facial thread veins, and irritated skin.

Problem: Dry Skin Prone to Breakouts

Rich, heavy creams are not always the answer for dry and parched skin types as they can give a greasy finish to the skin and cause breakouts and congestion to the t zone.  I recommend gloTherapeutics’ Pure Hydration to my clients who need added moisture without over ‘feeding’ the skin. A lightweight gel hydrator suited to even problematic skin types that treats dry and dehydrated skin through an infusion of water-binding humectants and preventing trans epidermal water loss.

Problem: Tired Skin

Treat skin weekly, or as a pre party pick me up, with a thick application of Dr Lewinn’s Ultra R4 Recovery Masque. For best results apply after cleansing, toning and exfoliating to deeply purify and hydrate new skin cells. To get the best out of this mask spend a few minutes massaging into the skin with circular and upward movements to help increase circulation which nourishes the skin and gives healthy glow.
