Sun damage is a natural part of long term exposure to the sun. The effects may not be noticed when we are young, but as we get older, sun damage begins to show in the form of wrinkles, sun spots, loss of skin elasticity and changes in skin pigmentation. The Celfix Anti-aging range contains unique DNA Repair Enzymes that have been proven to improve the effects of sun damage.

DNA is particularly susceptible to UV damage, which, though it will later have widespread consequences, is at first sustained in the topmost layer of skin. While the melanin of the skin and added sunscreen reflect or absorb a certain amount of light, enough solar radiation inevitably gets through to the nucleus of the cell to directly damage DNA and also to produce free radicals, which alter the genetic code.

The skin is not defenceless and within a 24 hour period following UV damage up to half of the DNA damage caused is repaired by our own inbuilt DNA repair enzymes. Unfortunately this is not enough and un-repaired DNA damage can wreak havoc and worse case the abnormal cell can become cancerous.

Celfix Cosmeceuticals uses enzymes known as endonucleases that seek out damaged DNA and send a rallying call to the body to use the natural repair enzymes in the body to remove the lesions.

The key to the effectiveness of these topically applied enzymes is their liposome delivery system, which transports them directly to the cells.
