Understanding Your Skin Type with SkinCeuticals

To ensure you select the right skincare regime for your skin type, it’s important to first understand exactly what your skin type is. We’ve put together a guide on how to define your skin type along with recommendations on which SkinCeuticals skincare regime to follow for your skin type.

Dry Skin:

Skin feels and appears smooth, fine grained, often flaked, wrinkled or parched. It can fell tight after washing and tends to roughen in harsh weather. It may be sensitive to reaction and can itch and crack easily. Wrinkles tend to form easily. You have little to no open pores, little elasticity and small wrinkles appear with facial expressions.

Combination Skin:

Skin has good elasticity depending on the area of the face. Facial lines may develop around the eye and lip area. Breakouts may occur particularly around t-zone.

Dehydrated Skin:

Skin looks very dry but may also be oily. When you look at the skin or slightly stretch it, fine ‘tissue paper’ lines run from pore to pore. May see visible flaking. Degree of oiliness varies. Large pores may exist. Fine, superficial lines or wrinkles form prematurely in entire face. No breakouts occur.

Blemished/Oily Skin:

Many clogged, open pores, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and under the skin infections. Very oily skin. Constant breakouts.

Sensitive Skin:

Skin is irritated by cold and wind, or can experience an extreme reaction to the cold. Distended capillaries are visible on cheeks and forehead. Skin can blotch, become flushed or red easily. Skin blushes easily.

Normal Skin:

Velvety, matte-like, good pigmentation, healthy, feels supple and soft. Skin is pink and glowing, neither shiny nor dull, firm to the touch, rarely develops spots, small pore size and very good elasticity.
