How To Treat Rosacea and Minimise Redness

Hi I’m Lisa, I’m a Beauty Therapist at Effortless Skin and today we are going to talk about Rosacea.

Rosacea is a condition that can leave the skin red and blotchy, and can be quite painful. It is generally found in the cheek area.

Sensitivity is the only early sign of Rosacea. However, there are triggers which include stress, sun exposure, hot and cold weather, spicy foods, alcohol and caffeine.

As there is no direct cure for Rosacea, it’s a really good idea to find out which triggers affect you personally then try and eliminate them from your lifestyle. You can also include a Rosacea cream, which will help to soothe pain and reduce the redness.

To get the best out of your Rosacea creams, we recommend you follow these steps.

Step one would be to cleanse the skin. If you’re wearing make-up, always do a double cleanse. As a Therapist, we always recommend to cleanse in an upward motion, as it’s better for the skin.

Step two would be to make sure the skin is nice and dry and prepared for the product’s application.

Step three is product application. Apply a pea-sized amount to fingertips then on to the affected area of skin, in a gentle light upward motion, until the product has penetrated the skin.
