For those with experience of mild and low level Retinol products, the Retriderm Retinol Skin Serum provides the perfect next step up in skin rejuvenation.

Formulated with a generous 0.5% concentration of Retinol alongside Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Soluble Collagen, this impressive serum gets to work on correcting and perfecting the skin from the very first application. It stimulates collagen production to soften fine lines, encourages cell turnover to remove dark spots and prevent blocked pores, and neutralises free radicals before they can damage the cells beyond repair. After a month, the tone and texture of the skin will become noticeably more youthful and radiant.

Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, apply a couple of pumps to clean skin in the evening 1-2 times a week with a few rest days in-between. Follow with a moisturiser if more hydration is required. After a few weeks, gradually start to increase usage to around 3-4 times a week depending on skins tolerance.

When using a Retinol product, you should always use a good quality sunscreen. We would recommend the Heliocare 360° Gel Oil Free SPF 50

For first time Retinol or Retriderm users, apply a few pumps to clean skin in the evening once or twice a week, with a few rest days in-between for best results. After a few weeks, gradually increase usage to around 3-4 times a week if skin can tolerate it. After application, wait around five minutes before applying a night time moisturiser if extra hydration is required.

When using Retriderm, it is important to apply a high factor sunscreen in the morning to protect the skin against UV rays as Retinol can make the skin extra sensitive.

Patch Test

If you are new to this product or any of its ingredients, we recommend completing a patch test first.

Use of Retinol

When using Retinol for the first time, it is important to allow the skin time to acclimatise to the active ingredient. Apply a small amount in the evening no more than twice a week, never on consecutive evenings, for at least two weeks. If the skin hasn’t suffered any extreme irritation or redness, start to increase the number of applications gradually over a period of weeks until you reach a number your skin is comfortable with. This could range from three nights to seven nights a week.

As Retinol can make the skin sensitive to sunlight, always apply a sunscreen to the skin every morning to prevent sun-induced inflammation and damage.
